The season of giving is upon us. We are thrilled to share that we will once again be supporting the local Chicago charity, Digs With Dignity for our annual charity team building day, and we welcome you to get involved. About Digs With Dignity
Digs With Dignity’s mission is to elevate the lives of those transitioning from homelessness by filling their houses with everything that makes a comfortable, dignified home. As a 501(c)(3), Digs with Dignity partners with Chicago-based social service agencies to identify those in need and utilizes a warehouse of donated and refurbished furniture and home goods to outfit homes. They work with a variety of individuals and families that may include domestic abuse victims, veterans, those who have experienced a sudden job loss or those dealing with extreme health situations.
In addition to helping the Chicago community, they are committed to zero waste. Every piece of furniture, knick knack, linen and kitchen accessory that they receive as a donation they either put into a home as-is, repair, up-cycle, or refurbish for a home. They are dedicated to reducing the amount of used furniture that ends up in landfills by repurposing it for good.
Sponsoring a Home Transformation
Last year we had the honor of sponsoring a home transformation. To say it touched our hearts is an understatement. Not only did we grow closer as colleagues, we bonded over the shared goal of creating a welcoming and comfortable place for a family to call home. Many of us are parent’s ourselves, and knowing that we were helping another parent provide a safe and cozy place for their children was a life-changing experience.
